Our Department of Professional Learning is committed to providing high quality, ongoing learning for all Jewish educators. By engaging in meaningful professional learning experiences that include both pedagogic and Jewish content, Jewish educators at every level can discover new personal competencies and innovative approaches for promoting excellence in the classroom and other venues.
SAJES provides pedagogic, Judaic and leadership training for classroom teachers, principals, family educators, youth workers and early childhood educators.
We know that collaborative partnerships nurture excellence, innovation and creativity among educators. SAJES serves as the hub for a variety of active networks for early childhood educators, classroom teachers, family educators, youth workers and principals.
There is always a need for quality Jewish educators. In response, SAJES offers the Morasha Teacher Preparation Institute, our flagship program specifically designed for adults who are interested in a career in Jewish education yet have never taught before in a congregational school setting, or those teaching who want to fill in gaps in their background.
We also know that recognition of achievement is an integral aspect of professionalism. SAJES encourages and sponsors events that ensure kavod to and for exemplary educators. Click here for information on the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Awards for Excellence in Jewish Education.
The Jewish Education & Resource Center @ SAJES offers Judaic and pedagogic resources, expert consultation services from our staff and a stimulating range of workshops, seminars and courses, special events and publications for Jewish educators at every level of experience.
